Most importantly it reminds me of the the great eternal sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us and of his resurrection. We also get to see the flowers bloom and the sun shine more. Bring in the Fresh Flowers! If you are allergic to pollen like I am try bringing in some pretty succulents or fresh potted herbs into the home. I have also seen lately a lot of faux plants that look freakishly real. This tip will make your home look more alive and out of hibernation.

Liven up those throw pillows. Whether in your living/family/bed room switching out old throw pillows is an easy way to freshen up any room on a dime. If you are one of those savy DIY people try making your own slip cover for your existing pillows. ( I might show you an easy way to do this soon... wink, wink) There are also a few good existing tutorials online to help you make your own.

Declutter! Declutter! Declutter! I cannot reinforce this enough. Donate or sell items around the house you have not used in the past year. Whether it be clothes, blankets, toys, books, jewelry ect... This will make a major impact in any room. You can also clear out clutter buy using beautiful decorative chest, baskets and storage bins to put your precious valuables in. Double a chest as a coffee table where you can put blankets or kid toys inside. Buy furniture that has pull out drawers or doors to keep some of your things out of sight.

Change your wall art. If you do not have the time or money to give your walls a fresh coat of paint then changing your wall art is a good inexpensive option. Have your kids draw what they think spring looks like and frame their artwork around the house. Have a wall mural of family photos? Spray paint the frames to a fun spring color.

Lighten up! Bring light into your home. Open up those windows. Dry clean your current window treatments or replace them with a some pretty sheer shades. Replace the shades on your current lamps with some light colored ones or just buy some new ones all together for a new look.
By bringing the the outside in, adding new throw pillows, decluttering your space, hanging new wall art and bringing in the light, your home will be spring ready in no time!
